Poll

What do you folks think are the 5 Greatest Songs ever?
1-Yesterday-The Beatles
2-Pride (In The Name of Love)- U2
3-Fast Cars- Tracy Chapman
4-Panama- Van Halen
5-Elenor Rigby The Beatles

Anyway, thats the way I feel right now, but I find that my list often changes with the mood I'm in.

Apology

I can admit when I am wrong, in the last post, I meant to write Knocking on Heaven's Door, however I was listening to Sweet Child at the time... Shit happens

Government falls

Well, it's finally happened, it was always a matter of when not if. It's too hard to say what will happen, but the only thing we can be sure of is that it will be a angry, vicious campaign. Since it is so uncertain what will happen the only responsible thing is to predict! Liberals 37 percent, 135 seats; Conservatives 29 percent 100 seats, Bloq 15 percent 55 seats, NDP with 15 percent 18 seats, Other/Independant 0 seats 4 percent. I see the NDP, Greens, and others losing votes in a highly polarized race, much like the Saskatchewan Liberals in the last provincial election. Of course things could change quickly, and we'll re visit a prediction closer to the vote. besides with my math I'm probably short 5 seats with percentages adding up to 107 percent. And that could only happen in Florida. Please add your predictions, and the person closest to the real results wins a prize*! I put the prune juice by the radiator already! By mid-January it'll be 180 proof!

Back from Edmonton

I just got home from a Nursing conference in Edmonton, it was very interesting and I got to meet a lot of interesting people. I didn't learn too much that would interest non-nurses, so I won't bore you all with nursing stuff, but here are the ten general things I learned.
Ten things I learned:
1)West Jet dominates Air Canada in every way.
2)Fancy hotels rock, especially when it's someone else paying for it
3)Old ladies + unlimited wine = hilarity.
4)There is no single group of people on the planet that keeps it real, and is generally wonderful than nursing students.
5)Normal people don't appreciate bowel stories.
6)Edmonton has a subway.
7)The U of A bar is vastly inferior to the Lazy Owl. And the Owl sucks.
8)I could do Edmonton, I mean I could never live in Calgary, but Edmonton had a nice vibe.
9)Flames-Oilers games are much better in an Alberta sports bar.
10)It get dark freakin' early in Edmonton.

Update

Well, I'm settled into the new pad, and loving it. Getting the internet was an experience, but what do you expect from SaskTel? My last few days of Nursing have been pretty needle heavy, I've done a couple of days at a needle exchange, I gave out over 3000 new rigs and took in another 2400 used rigs. Then I did a day at an elementary school doing grade 6 immunizations. In grade 6 the lil' darlings get 2 shots, 1 in each arm. Lots of them cried. Cute kids though. Most importantly is that in 2 more clinical days I am done wiht public health forever! YES! I really don't like it at all, I much prefer community health/capacity building, etc. Child Health Clinics and Maternity Visiting just don't do it for me.
On a completely different note, I have been really into country music lately. I'm not too sure why now of all times I have suddenly started liking country. Here are the reasons that I like country music:
1-The songs are usually a little story, not like rock or pop has become.
2-The songs are simpler instrumentally. Just like sometimes you want a steak and potato, you don't need a gourmet meal every night.
3-Country girls are HOT!
4-Country is great music to sip beers and chill with your friends to.
5-If you can two-step, I don't care who you are, your abilities to pick up girls is greatly enhanced.
6-Country is the only genre other than blue-grass that can successfully use a banjo.
7-Country music still has a sense of humour-i.e. "Some Beach"-hilarious
8-Country has Johnny Cash
9-Country has steel guitars
10-Country girls are HOT! (I know I said it twice)
